Local Video Game Maker Cuts 180 Jobs

Chicago-based Midway Games announced Tuesday that it has laid off 180 full-time employees. Of those layoffs, 130 came from the home office in our fair city. A 25% cut in staff is a pretty sizable chunk, though G4 reports that the Mortal Kombat team is safe, thanks to its early success with MK vs. DC. We wish our friends at Midway the best and hope for the company’s speedy recovery.
